How SAM:BAM came to be
Sometimes life writes its most beautiful songs in the most unexpected places. We – that is, Bex and Chris – met in a small, dimly lit bar in Pfäffikon, Zurich. A place where people often only went when all the other bars had closed. And yet karaoke was sung there regularly – and that was our first stage together. Chris sometimes even brought his portable karaoke machine along, and between cocktails, chaos, and charm, something special was born.
For a few years, it remained a casual friendship, and we met at karaoke events. Then Chris became a closer companion at birthdays and events – always with his ukulele, singing, and a radiance that lit up the whole room. And what connected us: a love of music. And of the USA – Chris's home and Bex's adopted home.
Then, in the spring of 2025, this one sentence was uttered: «I've always wanted to sing harmony – but I've never found anyone it really works with.»
Well the rest is history.
SAM:BAM was born. Originally with other names, but one remained constantly present. «Brother from Another Mother» was there early on and was suddenly complemented by a good friend with «Sister from another Mister.» And then it became clear: SAM:BAM is the combination. That's us. Two souls in harmony.
We mainly cover songs by the Everly Brothers – because their harmony suits our voices and hearts. «We don't sing to impress. We sing to connect.» This quote is from the Everly Brothers – and it suits us so well. And you can feel it – whether at birthday parties or on big stages.
Even a large restaurant chain booked us without ever having heard us live before. Now we're their summer band – because the audience doesn't just hear our music, they feel it.
SAM:BAM isn't a show.
It's connection. It's joy. It's music with heart and soul.
